WhatsApp for iOS released the 2.21.200.11 version update for beta users. With this, users will see not only the redesigned chat bubbles redesign but more so how the missing messages feature will work.
According to the always reliable WABetaInfo, this new beta is rolling out to the public testers and brings some interesting new changes to WhatsApp. For example, we’ve already covered the new colors of the redesigned chat bubble. Now, WABetaInfo gives us a closer look at it.
When comparing the old chat bubble with the new one, you see a rounder, larger, and more colorful chat bubble. The publication also shares the exact color of the old and new chat bubbles:
- Old light bubble color: #E1F6CA
- New light bubble color: #E2FDD5
- Old dark bubble color: #295F60
- New dark bubble color: #204F46

Not only that, WhatsApp is also releasing useful tools to manage missing messages. According to WABetaInfo, the app now lets you choose between different durations: 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.

Here’s how WhatsApp explains how the feature works:
It will also be possible to enable the “Default Message Timer” in the WhatsApp privacy settings. With this, all new chats will start with the option for messages to disappear for the selected period, as noted by WABetaInfo.
All these features are currently in beta but it probably won’t take long for WhatsApp to start rolling them out to all users. Another thing that users are looking forward to launching the app is the ability to migrate chats from iOS to Android and vice versa, along with multi-device support.
