The Dell Precision 7730 is one of the most powerful mobile workstations out there, complete with an Intel Xeon processor, 32GB of memory, an NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics card, and so much more. Featuring powerful hardware, it’s no surprise that this machine will help you get your job done quickly and efficiently, whether it’s while you’re on the road or in the office. But how well does this laptop hold up to everyday use? Keep reading to find out!
The overall review
The Dell Precision 7760 is the successor to the well-received Dell XPS 15. This product has shown that it has everything it takes to be one of the best laptops on the market. Sporting an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB DDR4 RAM, this laptop won’t even need to use its fans while in most tasks, including gaming. It comes with an NVIDIA GTX 1080 graphics card which means that you’ll be able to play AAA titles at 1080p without needing additional video cards or modifications. Moreover, unlike some of the predecessors in this line, there’s no noticeable input lag when playing games. There’s also ample storage space as well as numerous ports for connectivity so you’ll never be lacking space or outputs on your device.
The Dell Precision 7730 will handle any task you throw at it and never break a sweat. It has one of the best keyboards I’ve ever used on a laptop, so no matter how hardcore your work gets, you’ll be doing it in comfort. Not to mention the top-notch sound system! The 17-inch screen is large enough for you to get the most out of your games and videos while still being portable enough to carry around. There’s really nothing bad I can say about this machine!
There’s never been a computer that strikes this kind of balance between performance and portability, but there are few complaints to be had. The small size lets it escape the bulk that we’ve seen in machines like the MacBook Pro or Dell XPS 15, but performance is still good enough to run anything from Photoshop to AutoCAD. The I/O on this machine is impeccable. You can expect to have four full-sized USB ports for attaching peripherals, as well as Thunderbolt 3 and Ethernet connections for hooking up all your devices or accessing the internet.
A nice 17.3-inch touch screen display with 1440p resolution and 102 PPI is what will greet you when you power up this beast. The color accuracy was really impressive, as well. Plus, the laptop’s design is eye-catching and aggressive for gamers, but not overbearing for those who want to use it as a day-to-day machine. Lastly, the IGZO display panel offers 170-degree viewing angles to make it easier to share with others or have more than one person view it at once.
For the longest time, I used Macs as my laptop. I loved them and they worked really well for me. However, they don’t have much hardware customization available and software becomes out-of-date quickly. Dell’s latest laptop has made me see why it is such a masterful device in the tech world. The specs are perfect and even if it had no upgradeable parts, there would be plenty to keep people content with this laptop. But alas, the upgradability is why this machine is brilliant! The video card blows away other competitors which make for beautiful images and a better gameplay experience. The battery life lasts forever too! Eight hours on low power! It’s everything you could want from a high-end machine that looks amazing too.
The battery life
Dell’s latest laptop, the Dell Precision 7730 is not your average workstation. It packs in beefy graphics and plenty of computing power, and it has an equally beefy battery life to match. In our testing, the Dell 7730 lasted more than six hours on a single charge without breaking a sweat. Plus, when you are working on battery power with the help of Nvidia’s Optimus technology, this laptop can last even longer by switching between its own Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia’s Quadro M2200 GPU as needed (up to 24 hours). This way, you get the best performance from both your computer and battery at all times.
Dell Precision 7730 Xeon
The Dell Precision 7730 Xeon is an impressive laptop, in terms of its power and design. It has great internals, with the latest Intel processors and plenty of RAM to keep your day running smoothly. The battery life is stellar, which means you can get through most work days on one charge. It also has plenty of room for storage and expansion as needed. However, it does not have built-in Wifi or Bluetooth, so if you are looking for those options, this is not the right machine for you. But with so many good features already covered (and even at such a low price), the Dell Precision 7730 Xeon deserves high marks!
Does Dell Precision 7730 have a microphone?
The Dell Precision 7730 is touted as being one of the best laptops in terms of performance and functionality. If that’s not enough to get you interested, then how about this? There’s a built-in microphone! How neat is that? Now, I know what you’re thinking. How is this mic any better than other microphones? What sets it apart from other microphones is that it has both its own dedicated line and individual volume control. Plus, the keystroke volume adjustments will make your life easier on those long typing days when your coworkers refuse to get up from their seats for a coffee break or lunch. Finally, the software that comes with this notebook makes customizing your recording environment incredibly easy with different options such as noise reduction and channel mixing.
What is Dell Precision used for?
The Dell Precision 7730 laptop is the best choice for graphic designers, content editors, video producers, animators, and 3D rendering. This laptop has more options than other models in its range which makes it highly customizable and tailored to your needs. The body is made out of CNC machined aluminum and carbon fiber materials, so it’s lightweight and sturdy enough to take anywhere you go. The InfinityEdge display provides rich color reproduction with crisp details, perfect for editing or producing graphics from the color-accurate matte display.
The Dell Precision 7730 is made for all of the professional needs and I can’t think of anything they would need on the go that this computer wouldn’t be able to handle. The PC has been able to run some impressive software while maintaining a high frame rate with very little effort. The graphics card, screen size, internal storage, battery life, USB ports, and ports, in general, are all fantastic. There is literally nothing not to love about this laptop.
